Morné Jacobs – and Associate Eqophelo Projects and Business Consultants has extensive experience as a senior consultant focussing on Integrated Performance Governance Systems within the Government Sector. As an experienced member of two different School Governing Bodies (Tzaneen Primary School and Garsfontein Highschool) as well as the Chairperson of a Non-Profit Company he has extensive experience in understanding the role that boards should play in performing effective oversight.
His experience as manager of a private hospital coupled with his M.B.A. qualification provides him with a sound understanding of business principles, sound practices that should be followed within the corporate governance environment. Reporting to the Board of Directors at Tzaneen Mediclinic as well as the Board of Mediclinic Corporation he has first-hand experience in dealing with Board meetings and Governance matters. As consultant he had various engagements with Boards of government entities in presenting strategies developed or conducting training on Performance Governance.
His expertise lies in the fact of understanding how planning and policy lays the foundation of how Board members will be able to monitor and oversee the performance of the organisation and therefore understand the roles and responsibilities of Board members extremely well. He has conducted Board Evaluations for the Greater Tzaneen Economic Development Agency (GTEDA) and has been involved in a number of governance training sessions with boards such as the Construction Industry Board, Amatola Water Board and the DownTown Music Hub.
In 2011 Morné joined the John Maxwell Team as Founding member and is certified to be an independent coach, speaker and leadership development facilitator for specific John Maxwell Leadership programs. As a teacher at heart and excellent communicator he can share his knowledge and expertise with people at any level within an organization. He believes that buy-in, understanding and commitment are the fundamental requirements for the implementation of any change management initiative or activities.
